Airline itself is not a shitty business. The problem is U.S. airline companies don't know how to play together. They always try to expand into other geographic areas before having a regional economy. by doing that, they rely on price competition which eats away their profits. One exemption is southwest. the company is very smart. they don't expand into other areas until they have built out a regional economy in one area. Hopefully, chinese airlines can learn this lesson.
